Description

As a Clinical Supervisor RN at Mercy, you will lead the night shift clinical team on a hospital unit, overseeing patient care delivery, staff assignments, and adherence to evidence-based practices. You will mentor and support nurses, coordinate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, and ensure high standards of safety, quality, and patient satisfaction. In this role, you will help drive clinical excellence, support process improvements, and model Mercy’s culture of compassion, respect, and collaboration while fostering professional growth and continuous learning for your team.
Supervise night shift nursing staff and daily clinical operations on the unit
Oversee patient care delivery and ensure adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards
Coordinate patient care with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
Develop and manage staff assignments and adjust staffing based on acuity and census
Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to nursing staff
Support orientation and ongoing clinical education for nurses and support staff
Monitor quality metrics, patient satisfaction, and participate in process improvement initiatives
Ensure accurate clinical documentation and regulatory compliance
Serve as an on-unit clinical resource and decision-maker during nights
